An account is necessary in order to submit an abstract, but only one submitting account is needed for multi-authored abstracts. Abstract updates and changes can be made through your account up until the submission deadline. [Note: Creating an account is separate from registering for the symposium. To register for the symposium, reserve a ticket online.]
ABSTRACTS ARE DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 7, 2023.
Awardees are encouraged, but not required, to present their research activities at the symposium as an oral presentation or poster (must be an awardee to present). Abstracts are limited to 300 words.
Oral Presentations
Due to the limited number of slots available for oral presentations, speaker preference will be given to those who have not spoken at the symposium before and have awards nearing completion. In addition, speaker selection will seek programmatic balance across science areas and award types. Speaker selections will be made by May 5, 2023, and speakers notified via email. Oral presentations will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and answers.
Poster Presentations
Space is available for up to 100 posters. If the number of poster abstracts exceeds the number of poster boards available, posters will be selected on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Poster selections will be made by May 5, 2023, and presenters notified via email. Posters will be presented on 4-foot x 6-foot boards.
Abstract and Presentation Guidance
The symposium is unusual in the breadth of the science represented. Abstracts and presentations should be prepared with a broad audience in mind. Please prepare with sufficient background and at such a level that non-experts in the field can readily understand the significance and impact of the research. Please note, when adding co-authors, you are required to provide the co-author's email address. The co-author will not be emailed or notified in any way by providing their email address.
